Fertility tests for women
Why do a fertility check?
A fertility check is done to examine your current fertility and to look for any possible reasons for why you’re struggling to conceive.
The findings of this check-up will allow us to advise you on whether you require treatment and what your best treatment options are.
The insight we gain into your fertility will also be very helpful when it comes to future family planning.
What is being examined?
The check-up is performed around your needs, but will normally include the following:
- Blood test to assess your hormone profile, general state of health and blood borne viruses
- Medical history
- Gynecological examinations
- Pelvic ultrasound
- An HSG to examine your fallopian tubes
The process
1. Contact us to make an appointment

We will find the time that suits you the best.
2. Blood test

As part of the fertility check, we will request a blood test to examine your hormone levels. The blood test can be carried out at either Medicus, your GP or your nearest hospital.
3. Findings

One of our gynecologists will go through the results and answer any questions you may have. Further investigations during the cosultation will give us a thorough understanding of your fertility.
