Junior embryologist or embryologist, Trondheim

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of Medicus clinic in the heart of Trondheim, Norway. Medicus was founded in 1997  in Trondheim and we have the last years expanded our clinics to include three of the biggest cities in Norway: Trondheim, Stavanger  and Oslo. We offer services within gynecology, fertility investigation and treatment as well as clinical research.

We have 8 embryologists working at the different Medicus clinics and we work on creating nationwide best practices and exchanging knowledge and experiences across the clinics to improve workflows and quality. We have time-lapse technology for all or most patient cycles, RI Witness for electronic witnessing and try to be a front runner in evidence-based ART which means we are both investing in new technology, but are also cautious in investing in things that mainly add costs, but not value for patients.

Our clinic in Trondheim is growing rapidly and we want to add a third member to our embryologist team here. This could be a  junior embryologist or a fully trained embryologist.

 We offer:

  • Varied and interesting work tasks
  • A meaningful workday with patients who appreciate the good service we provide
  • Nice colleagues and a good working environment
  • The possibility to be a part of a growing and modern clinic
  • Professional development through training, staff meetings, internal teaching and courses/congresses

Who are you?

You should have  the knowledge  and some training in all aspects of IVF treatment, including  ICSI and vitrification of oocytes and embryos. However, you don’t need to be fully trained in all procedures since we will dedicate time to help you on the path to becoming that.

We pride ourselves on our success rates and attribute this to our very high standards and continual development. Therefore, attention to detail, logical thinking and a passion for understanding the current advances in the field are essential. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communicational skills, as the role requires a lot of patient contacts and a close working relationship within a multidisciplinary team. This can be in English but Norwegian will be encouraged.

Potential candidates are required to send a full CV and a cover letter.

If you have, a copy of your logbook with the number of procedures performed independently this is also something we would like a copy of. We don’t require it to be signed by a supervisor in this part of the process.

Tasks

Laboratory tasks including, but are not limited to:

  • oocyte retrieval
  • oocyte stripping
  • spermatozoa processing
  • intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
  • fertilization check
  • embryo grading
  • semen freezing
  • oocyte vitrification and embryo vitrification
