INFORMATION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT MEDICUS

Before the consultation

If you are going to a gynecological consultation

  • Remember to note when your last menstrual period started.
  • Be prepared that we will often perform a pelvic examination and/or vaginal ultrasound examination.

If you are undergoing assisted reproduction treatment

  • Remember to sign all documents and send them back to us.

Whether you should provide a semen sample

  • You must abstain from sex for a minimum of 2 days, but no longer than 3 days, before taking the test. Abstinence that is too short or too long will affect the test and the assessment.
  • For those who will be submitting a sperm sample for treatment We prefer that this be taken at the clinic. If this still has to be taken at home, it is important that you get a cup from the clinic to use, not one you buy at the pharmacy.
  • For those who are going to provide a semen sample for fertility testing We prefer that this be taken at home/outside the clinic during these times. You can purchase sample tubes/urine tubes at the pharmacy for delivery of samples for fertility testing.
  • Samples taken at home must be received within 45 minutes of the sample being taken and should be kept warm during transport to the clinic, e.g. in the armpit.
  • Bring valid identification with you, you will be asked to identify yourself when delivering the sample.

After the consultation

  • For normal test results, we will send the answer via SMS. If we find anything that needs to be followed up, you will receive this via letter and/or telephone.
  • If you have not received a response to the tests we took from you within four weeks, call us to find out if the results have arrived.

Payment

Following the consultation, you will receive a sms with a link to payment.  
If the link is not used within three days, an invoice will be sent to the address you have registered with us. 

Avbestilling

If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, cancellation must be made at least 24 hours in advance so that you do not have to be billed for unused time (consultation fee).
