This is a question we often get, but it can be a bit difficult to answer because the dose of hormones she needs varies from woman to woman.
A couple of examples of this: A woman who needs 350 IU (international units) of FSH every day could end up at around 14.000,- if you include the injection to block ovulation and the ovulation injection. If a woman needs smaller hormone doses, for example 112,5 IU, we would end up at 6.500 including all medications. The medications used in the supportive treatment will cost between 500,- and 1000,- depending on the preparation.
Medicine costs are paid directly to the pharmacy. Medicine costs above a certain amount may be covered by the state, read more about this on the Norwegian Health Economy Administration (HELFO) website.
*Typical product names for FSH – or follicle-stimulating hormone – are Puregon, Menopur and Gonal-F
The price for a blood test can be found in our price list (see under the “Gynecology” tab).
You must cover the treatment yourself, but regardless of whether you are treated at a private or public clinic, you have the same rights when it comes to reimbursement of medicines over 19.419,- (2023). Read more about this on HELFO's website.
Payment must be made no later than the day the eggs are collected.

We have entered into a partnership with Ditt Apotek Solsiden. The partnership agreement means that they will strive to have in stock all pharmacy products that couples undergoing infertility treatment need in connection with their treatment.
