The menopause, often called the menopause, is the period before and after the last menstrual period, and usually occurs between the ages of 45 and 55. At this time, the sex hormone estrogen disappears, and many people experience varying degrees of discomfort such as these:

  • Hot flashes and sweats
  • Bleeding disorders
  • Changes in mucous membranes
  • Psychological symptoms, such as depression, insomnia, and poor concentration

The hormonal changes also affect the skeleton. This can lead to lower bone mass and in some cases osteoporosis, which you should be aware of if you have a family history of osteoporosis. Treatment can also counteract this.

Many people get good help from hormone therapy in the form of a preparation or patch, and it does not postpone the symptoms until later, as many people believe. We also have local treatment for problems with mucosal changes.
