Fertility assessment · Two women
When you want children together –
and will understand their possibilities
The fertility assessment is the first step towards figuring out what the course of treatment should look like for you. It provides insight into the fertility of both of you, assesses who should carry the child, and maps out which methods are most suitable.

What is included?
What are we investigating?
Both are offered an examination. The examination is tailored to you.
The one who wants to carry the child
· Gynecological examination with ultrasound
· Hormone tests (AMH, FSH, LH, TSH)
· Cycle and ovulation charting
Infectious diseases
Partner (if needed)
Especially recommended if both are considering carrying children, through partner donation (ROPA), or if the partner wants insight into their own fertility.
Same examination, but without testing for infectious diseases if she is not going to be treated herself.
Common – conversation with a fertility specialist
Review of history, wishes, current methods, who should carry the baby and what happens next. The goal is that you both understand each step and feel safe.
Treatment methods
Which methods are relevant?
The investigation provides the basis for choosing the right method for you.
Insemination with donor sperm (IUI-d)
A gentle method that is used when everything is in place for natural fertilization in the uterus.
Test tube treatment with donor sperm (IVF-d)
Current when fertility is reduced or in case of previous failed IUI attempts.
Partner donation (ROPA)
One donates the eggs, the other carries the child. The assessment provides useful information in advance.
