On average, struggling 1 in 6 couples fail to conceive on their own. The reason for this may be due to underlying fertility problems in the woman, the man, or both. Are you a couple who have tried to get pregnant in about a year without success, it may therefore be a good idea to take a fertility check to find the cause.  

For same-sex couples (two women) or single women who want children, a fertility check is the first step in the treatment process. For those who don't have a desire for children right now, but in the future, a fertility check can be a step in planning for the future.  

What is a fertility check?

A fertility check, also referred to as a fertility test or fertility test, is an examination that checks your fertility. That is, how good your chances are of having children.

Why do you need a fertility check?

A fertility check is not necessary for everyone. However, for couples who have been trying to conceive on their own without success for about a year, it is a good idea to have a fertility check to find the cause. A survey will help you get the necessary help, depending on where the problem lies.  

Sometimes a simple pill regimen may be enough to help with ovulation problems is enough to make it work. Other times you need more help in the form of treatment with assisted fertilization to get pregnant. How is a fertility check performed?

The content of a fertility check is related to your or their starting point and previous history, and is adapted accordingly. There are different methods for checking fertility in women and men. A fertility check will always involve a conversation with one of our experienced fertility specialists, sampling and examinations. The fertility check usually takes between 30-60 minutes.   

If you or you wish to undergo treatment and have had a fertility check previously, we can usually use the results from this fertility check without you needing to have another check with us. However, there may be some cases where it has been a long time since the samples were taken, where we need to do new hormone tests on the woman or a new sperm sample from the man. 

How a fertility check is performed for the woman

On a general basis, the A fertility check for women normally includes a gynecological examination where the gynecologist examines uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubeseFurthermore, blood samples are taken to mapadd your hormone levels (among other things AMH and FSH) and general health condition. If you wish to receive treatment, you will also be checked for risk of infection.

How a fertility check is done for men

A fertilitytA man's check initially involves you delivering a semen sample that analyzed av our embryologists in the laboratory. Sample analysis not only that you actually have sperm, but also looks at factors that can affect the quality of your sperm, such as motility, volume, thickness and PH value

If it turns out that you have reduced sperm quality, hormone tests will also be taken. In addition, a blood test is also taken to check for the risk of infection if you are going to continue treatment. Sometimes, an examination of the external genitalia, especially the testicles and spermatic cord, as well as the prostate gland, may also be performed to check for infection or nodules.
