What is included?

What does a fertility check involve?

A thorough but low-threshold examination that gives you a clear picture of your fertility right now.

01

Gynecological examination

Ultrasound of the uterus and ovaries. The gynecologist looks at the size of the ovaries and the number of visible follicles (egg reserve).

02

Hormone tests

AMH shows the egg reserve. FSH tells about the egg quality. Possibly LH, prolactin and other relevant hormones if needed.

03

Cycle mapping

Assessment of whether ovulation is regular, based on conversation and test results.

04

Conversation with a specialist

Explanation of results and what they mean for your situation.

Knowledge

What affects female fertility?

The most important factors we look at and explain during a fertility check.

Age

Women are born with all the eggs they will ever have. The number naturally decreases over time, and egg quality gradually declines from around 30–32 years of age.

Egg reserve (AMH)

AMH tells about the number of eggs in the ovaries – but not about their quality. Women with AMH between 3 and 60 are considered to be of fertile age.

Egg quality (FSH)

FSH tells you about the quality of your eggs. Low egg quality can make it harder to get pregnant.

Lifestyle and underlying conditions

Smoking, snus, low/high body weight and certain medications can affect fertility. PCOS and endometriosis are examples of underlying conditions.
