Why choose Medicus Bergen as your fertility clinic?
We could mention many good reasons why you should choose Medicus Bergen as your fertility clinic, but here we give you three good reasons that we believe make us stand out:
1. International team with high expertise
At Medicus Bergen you will meet an international team with high expertise in fertility and assisted reproduction. As at all our clinics, we are always looking for the best people to work with us, both within and outside Norway. At Medicus Bergen we have therefore brought in embryologists Jenna and Miki, who have extensive experience from large fertility clinics abroad.
In addition, we have the German fertility doctor Alexander Freis at the helm, who has a specialist education in fertility. On top of this are local IVF nurses and gynecologists from Bergen, with solid experience in fertility and assisted reproduction from the fertility department at Haukeland Hospital.

2. IVF doctor with rare specialist training
Fertility doctor Alexander Freis has a very impressive CV with over 10 years of experience in fertility medicine. In addition to being a gynecologist as a result of his specialist training in obstetrics and gynecology, Alexander has further specialist training in gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine, completed at Heidelberg University Hospital, the largest public IVF department in Germany. This is a specialization that is not available in Norway, but in a number of other European countries.
Before moving to Norway to start Medicus Bergen, Alexander worked as a consultant at a university hospital and as deputy director of a large private fertility clinic in Germany, with many treatment cycles, which has given him a lot of experience. Alexander has done a lot of research in both assisted reproduction and gynecology, which has earned him the title of "Privatdozent" in Germany, which in Norway is equivalent to Førsteamanuensis or "Associate professor".
In addition, he is a board member of the committee for reproductive endocrinology in the largest European organization for assisted reproduction and embryology, ESHRE.

3. Personal follow-up and care for the individual
Several of our staff have personal experience with involuntary infertility and have a unique understanding of what our patients are going through; both mentally, emotionally and physically. At Medicus, we focus on adapting and individualizing treatment for each patient. We see the importance of a thorough assessment to find the cause, and then adapting treatment to increase your chances of success. Our staff are passionate about what they do, and you will notice that from the moment you walk through our door.
