About Sunniva

Sunniva Bjørnå works as a dietitian at Medicus Oslo, and will receive her authorization as a clinical nutritionist this spring. She has a bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology and Biological Chemistry from the University of Oslo, and will complete a professional study program in clinical nutrition this summer.

She has been a group leader in weight loss courses for patients at Aker Hospital, worked on the Noba app for irritable bowel syndrome and held various positions as a scientific assistant in nutrition-related research projects.

Sunniva has extensive experience with weight loss and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), but also diet and fertility, celiac disease, diabetes, allergies, nutritional supplementation and weight gain, and can help patients with various issues.

She is committed to making food as uncomplicated as possible and a positive part of everyday life. Sunniva focuses on providing patients with good mapping and guidance adapted to their everyday life and preferences, with the goal of minimizing ailments and symptoms and increasing quality of life. 

Education

  • Bachelor in Molecular Biology and Biological Chemistry at the University of Oslo
  • 5-year professional study in clinical nutrition (June 2025)

  • Research assistant in Norkost4, the nationwide epidemiological survey on what the population in Norway eats and drinks. 24-hour dietary interviews and dietary registration in the dietary calculation system KBS.
  • Research assistant in CeliaQLife with tasks such as DEXA scans (bone density measurements), dietary interviews, urine and stool samples.
